成田 丈悦
Born in Aomori, rooted in Curitiba for decades. In Goju Ryu, he first trained under Shihan Leonardo Carion — National Director of Seigokan, whom he describes as a father — in Rio de Janeiro around 1984. Later, in Japan, he became a disciple of Shinsaku Murata and Seigo Tada Sensei, the latter a direct disciple of Chojun Miyagi.
His path also passed through Kancho Masaya Kohama, founder of Shobukan; Aldo Sensei, pioneer of karate in Paraná; and the monk Akeshi Sueyoshi, founder of Rakuyukai and master of Kobudo. He trained in Joshimon Shorin-Ryu with Sensei Ishizuka, and Wado-Ryu with Senseis Maeda, Sakurai and Ota.
A master of Acupuncture and Seitai — disciplines learned from his father, Mitsuaki Narita, raised in a temple and founder of his own Seitai school in the 1990s. Today he serves as Vice-Director of Seigokan Brazil and national referee for the CBK.
This is where he writes — on Budo, tradition, and what sustains a life on and beyond the tatami.
